When pregnant, you often think about all the food you don’t want to eat or don’t like. What I had found out during pregnancy is that you can get creative. Instead of thinking of all the food I couldn’t stand, I started mixing all the food I wanted. And yes, sometimes it got weird.
This discovery has been wonderful to me: Strawberry Cereal Ice Cream Dessert. Mmm.
This recipe was inspired after going to a Japanese soft-serve ice cream place known for their green tea soft-serve. I was eating it for the first time, when I reached the bottom and discovered…cereal. My husband, the cereal expert, quickly identified it as Golden Grahams cereal. This lead to a discussion about the types of ice cream we would eat with which cereal. The next day, I ran into a box of Golden Grahams and I knew it was a sign. The best thing about this recipe? It’s easy.
Now, how to make it:
Junk food. Just kidding. Not really.
- Golden Grahams
- Ice cream flavor of your choice. The trick is to buy a high quality ice cream. I went with Tillamook Oregon Strawberry.
- Place some cereal in the bottom of an empty bowl. This is important since by the time you get to the bottom, the Golden Grahams have become a little bit softer but still retain their crunch.
- Scoop as much ice cream into your bowl as you desire.
- Optional: if you like your cereal, add more of it to the top.
#sorrynotsorry for introducing this high sugar dessert into your lives. You can thank my once pregnant self.
