Strawberry Cereal Ice Cream Dessert

When pregnant, you often think about all the food you don’t want to eat or don’t like. What I had found out during pregnancy is that you can get creative. Instead of thinking of all the food I couldn’t stand, I started mixing all the food I wanted. And yes, sometimes it got weird.

This discovery has been wonderful to me: Strawberry Cereal Ice Cream Dessert. Mmm.

This recipe was inspired after going to a Japanese soft-serve ice cream place known for their green tea soft-serve. I was eating it for the first time, when I reached the bottom and discovered…cereal. My husband, the cereal expert, quickly identified it as Golden Grahams cereal. This lead to a discussion about the types of ice cream we would eat with which cereal. The next day, I ran into a box of Golden Grahams and I knew it was a sign. The best thing about this recipe? It’s easy.

Now, how to make it:

Junk food. Just kidding. Not really.

  1. Golden Grahams
  2. Ice cream flavor of your choice. The trick is to buy a high quality ice cream. I went with Tillamook Oregon Strawberry.

  1. Place some cereal in the bottom of an empty bowl. This is important since by the time you get to the bottom, the Golden Grahams have become a little bit softer but still retain their crunch.
  2. Scoop as much ice cream into your bowl as you desire.
  3. Optional: if you like your cereal, add more of it to the top.
  4. Enjoy!

#sorrynotsorry for introducing this high sugar dessert into your lives. You can thank my once pregnant self.
